This design for this detached ADU started with a vacant lot and a dream

The spark that guided the dream was of a workshop for electrical vehicles of which the owner is an avid builder. Then came the DADU designed to be the primary residence of the owner. Then came the house, because you cannot have a DADU without a primary residence. There was discussion about phasing construction of the house and ADU but it was decided that it was more cost effective to build both at the same time. There were many permitting obstacles to be overcome to realizing the dream not to mention a pandemic but as a team we persevered.
